This pourable, 2 part foam could be used to create shields or fries, once a mold was made. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this type of foam? uscomposites.com/foam.html

It is the same as expanding filler foam you put in your house. it is structurally weak and snaps easily. I dont think it would be good to use in our sport honestly. A shield probably would be the best thing if poured over a core but in my opinion would not work well. Go to a hardware store and buy a can of expanding foam and test it out on something and you will see what I mean.
Where is Wolf our resident foamoligist chemist extraordinaire? I am sure he has some book knowledge he can spread on us.

only know two brothers who had experience with it. It was "Big Dave", and Squirl.
could give a friendly call and ask how, or where to start a search?
Last I saw one used in anyway, was a filler shape for a coffin shield, and blue foam placed around it. Worked just like any other shield.

The expandable spray foam I've used comes out like a regular punch shield. It's hard to manage though.

Ah ok cool was not sure. I would think in order to save the molds you will need some sort of non stick coating to apply to it to aid in releasing.

I would think pam would be fine but the oils may react with the petroleum in the foam. I personally would use corn starch or baby powder.

Lemme take a gander at the composition. The folks that were camping next to us at the last Rag I was at had a shield made of a two part foam, but the guy never got back to me the polymer make up. I'll look into this.
